Milrab is a Norwegian company offering tactical gear and clothes – produced for military units, policemen and security personell – to everybody. In the webshop anyone can find equipment made to stand the toughest and hardest of conditions.
My assignment for Milrab is to translate the product descriptions, from Norwegian into Swedish, for the Swedish webshop. The Scandinavian languages are similar, but I never thought I would be translating from Norwegian. Now that I do, I have discovered there are many false friends to look out for. A short sentence often takes longer than expected to “re-think”, despite seeming simple at first glance. It turned out to be an interesting challenge.
